Initially using 2D Autocad to generate DWG drawing files (contractual and standard designs).

Communicating with contractors and site supervisors.
Attending design review meetings
Occasional site visits/surveys
Maintain/update CAD standard drawing libraries
Apprenticeships in general don't really interest me, though if I was to apply for any if I had to, this particular one would be relative to my current level of skills in the area of work that the apprenticeship involves, so I may apply for this if I needed to.

A busy signs manufacturing and installations company are looking to take on an Apprentice Sign Maker to assist with increasing work load.
As a sign maker you would be expected to contribute to the design, manufacture and installation of signs for a variety of uses, including interior modular signage, exterior signs for architecture graphics, business premises, indoor and outdoor graphics, etc.
A range of materials are used for example Perspex, stainless steel, aluminium, MDF – wood veneer, vinyl, plastic, metal and glass (used for illuminated or electronic signs).
Duties include:
designing signs and working to pre-prepared designs
measuring and calculating signage sizes and layouts
preparing surfaces
using digital technology such as printers and plotters to produce lettering/graphics/logos
cutting out and building plastic/metal letters, logos and 3D shapes
applying paint backgrounds by brush, spray or roller
attaching graphics to backgrounds (if assembling a moulded sign)
bending acrylic into shape
Installing signs on site

They produce posters and construction site signage. MPS design marketing materials using either the clients pre-set designs or creating designs on the client behalf using up to date software.
They are looking to expand the design team as the business grows.
The successful candidate will be drafting new designs for signs/banners ensuring the design meets the client's needs. The candidate will be using Adobe Illustrator, Photo Shop and be responsible for updating the company Facebook, Twitter and Website Blogs.
Duties also include Preparing documents for 'Pre Press, Writing presentations and assisting with briefs, Marketing, Learning and utilising software, Art working, Supporting in developing, amending and drafting final illustrations for review by the customer, Carrying out research and Working as part of team.
